Social Services Available:

Refugees will likely be eligible for some US government assistance which may include:
• SNAP
• TANF or Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA)
• Medicaid or Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA)
• Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
• Employment Assistance: Refugee Support Services (RSS)

***Government services may very depending on current legislative actions at both Federal and State level.

First steps for filling out the I-134A:

  • A sponsor may reach out to you to do a video call with them to  introduce yourselves to each other. Both sides need to feel comfortable before going forward.

  •  Refugees may be asked to take photos of their passport photo pages and email or text them to the sponsor. This will help to avoid typos when enter the name and passport data in the I-134A.

  •  Names, passport numbers, emails (yours and the refugee’s), and phone numbers must be free of typos.
